The lord of
the manor at this time was having an affair with one of his servant girls. The servant
girl eventually fell pregnant with the lord of the manor. When he found out she
was expecting his child he had a fury of rage. At the time of finding out she
was pregnant, lord of the manor was having building work done to the castle, and
he had the servant girl walled up inside the spiral staircase. Possibly alive
and still carrying his child.
Reports say
that you can still hear the servant girl walking up and down the stairs which goes
up to the turrets right behind the library. Many have said that they can hear
footsteps around that area.
Another
story that has been told for years now is that a rich lady who once owned Walworth
castle, she slept with the stable boy at the time and became pregnant. It’s
said that it brought shame and disgrace on her family and she was locked up in
one of the turrets and it’s said that she haunts that area, the library and
room 16.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Here is a list of some of the reported
activity in some of the rooms inside the castle.
BALLROOM- people have experienced the feeling
that someone is behind them. A watch alarm going off at midnight when no one
has set the alarm and it’s never been set before.
MORNING ROOM/TURRET- people have heard tapping and
clicking noises, felt cold spots. One person experienced pain and pressure on
the left side of their head and being drawn to another room. People have also experienced
being touched.
ROOM 17- A medium that visited the room
sensed he could smell fire and burning and said that there had once been a fire
in the room at some point. The owner confirmed that there had been a fire in
the room in the past.
JENNISON SUITE-TV’s have been turned on and off,
and felt a presence of a man in the corner of the room. Guests and maids that
work there have experienced their clothes being tugged and hair getting pulled.
Also my
partner and I stayed in the general Aylmer suite which was originally the
chapel. We never experienced any paranormal activity but looking back on some
photos we took it looks like ORBS to us! And we actually stood outside room 16
and we both got chills but didn’t get permission to enter as we only went to
stay at the castle for the night.

ReplyDeleteI saw a woman dressed in white flowing clothes walking through reception. Saw an orb (with my eyes, not camera) and flash of light around here too.
The library has a horrible feeling, very uncomfortable in there, going through to the lounge & sitting on the sofa near the door was very uncomfortable. I felt a great pressure on the left hand side of my neck, moved to the other side of the room quickly! Later we returned to the library & the door closed on us......
Saw a flash of someone dressed in blue on the stairs
Room 16- The Jennison Suite- wow, we slept there, exptremely active. Felt static in the hallway leading to the bedroom went we first entered. My partner Neil dowsed & there are 2 areas of spirit activity. Later l saw a man in the bedroom, near the window & later by the bed, he was dressed on cream fine knitted outfit, he said his name was William. saw lots of flashes of lights over the time we stayed there. Neil get static electricity feeling & felt cobwebs over his face even though they weren't there...
Eventually there was a hysterical lady with wild blonde hair in the corridor to the bedroom, sent her to the light- very emotional
